Counting my blessings and not my pounds
Gaining weight is never easy for a woman. I gained 50 lbs during my pregnancy and my sister gained 60. Generic pregnancy literature says you’ll gain 25-35 lbs, but I don’t think that fits every body type and person. It was difficult at times to see myself growing and expanding physically while my partner changed very little. I became resentful in moments of jealousy. It’s all a process to work through psychologically—giving up one’s own pride for the sake of new life.
